Job Description

Summary

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.  Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the financial services, collections, or related industry experience.  The candidate is familiar with databases, technical concepts, and their applicability to business.

The candidate works on problems and solutions of varying scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. The candidate exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Incumbent handles most problems and issues independently and determines course of action for ambiguous issues.

Normally receives minimal instructions on non-routine work assignments and only general instructions on new or more complex assignments. Decisions are made independently. Assigned multiple projects not requiring direct supervision.

Contact is typically coordinative in nature and involves exchanging detailed and/or sensitive information. The candidate will deal with both internal IT, business, and external contacts.

 

 

Job Requirements

Essential Functions

  1. Conduct preliminary investigation for project requests. Review requirements, specifications, test, support, and training plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives on projects.
  2. Act as a liaison between IT and business units by:
    1. Translating business needs, objectives or issues into actionable requirements
    2. Opening and maintaining lines of communication to monitor and improve business unit satisfaction with IT,
    3. Making recommendations for product enhancements, and
    4. Managing business unit expectations of IT.
  3. Participate in business process modeling sessions, acting as a documentarian, co-facilitator, facilitator or subject matter expert in requirements sessions.
  4. Conduct interviews and perform analysis to create business cases for projects.
  5. Participate in business process management group efforts to collect and analyze metrics and continually improve processes owned by the group.
  6. Participate in root cause analysis to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business units and IT.
  7. Participate in system development lifecycle to ensure IT delivery matches requirements.
  8. May act as a project manager and user testing resource on some projects.

Minimum work experience required/preferred: 3-5 years                                                                                  

Minimum education and training required/preferred:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Financial Services or Collections/BPO experience preferred.  Highly skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio tools.
